Who you are buying from

Roll BJJ is a registered business name of Joel Nathan Shapcott, a sole trader in Queensland, Australia, ABN 39 683 259 554. Reach us through the contact form.

Prices and GST

All prices are in Australian dollars. Roll BJJ is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged and the price you see contains no GST component. For that reason your paperwork is an invoice or a receipt, never a “tax invoice” — that term is reserved for GST-registered sellers, and you should not use our documents to claim a GST credit, because there is none to claim.

Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we email you a confirmation, and the contract forms at that point. Occasionally we may have to decline: stock can sell out between your order and our packing bench, and prices can be published wrongly. Where a price or stock error affects your order we will contact you, and you can choose to proceed at the corrected price or take a full refund. We will not quietly charge you a different amount than the one you agreed to.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to them and are never held by us. Payment is taken when you place the order, not when it ships.

Delivery

We ship within Australia only. Delivery timeframes given at checkout are estimates provided by the carrier, not guarantees — once a parcel is with Australia Post or a courier, its timing is outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, tell us and we will sort it out with the carrier; that is our problem to chase, not yours.

Your consumer guarantees

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights apply regardless of anything else on this page, and they are not limited by any time period we set for change-of-mind returns.

Change-of-mind returns

Separately from those guarantees, we accept change-of-mind returns for 30 days on unworn gear with tags still attached. Return postage for a change of mind is yours; return postage for a faulty item is ours. The details are on the shipping and returns page.

Wholesale accounts

Wholesale pricing is offered to gyms and retailers at our discretion, and applying does not guarantee approval. Wholesale prices are confidential and for your business’s own purchasing — they are not to be republished. We may withdraw an account if it is used outside those terms.

Reviews you write

If you leave a review you keep ownership of what you wrote, and you give us permission to publish it on the site alongside the product. We may decline to publish or later remove a review that is abusive, defamatory, off-topic or not from a real customer. We will not edit a review to change what it says about a product — if we would not publish it, we say so rather than quietly rewriting it.

Our designs and images

The gi designs, liner artwork, photography, product names and the Roll BJJ name are ours, and may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission. Buying a gi buys you the gi, not the right to reproduce the artwork on it.

The site itself

We aim to keep the store available and its content accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising out of your use of the site or a purchase is limited to replacing the goods or refunding what you paid for them. That limit does not apply to the consumer guarantees above, which cannot be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top tells you which that is. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction.
